Question and Answers

Q:

Our washer doesn't completely spin out clothes, need to spin two or three times. PAV2300AWW Maytag Washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your washer. Upon researching modelPAV2300AWW; the second spin could be fasters than the first. The clothes retain water after the water is drained out. Check the drain pump and drain hose for any restrictions. If the hose or pump is getting clogged it will prevent all the water from draining.

Hello. I have the same model and it takes multiple spins to get it to a decent damp state. My drain path seems clear although I will give it a thorough inspection next time I look at it. Overall, if its not the pump could another option be the drive belt(s) underneath? If you don't mind, can you give me an idea on whats all involved in swapping out the belt(s)? I believe I saw 2 on the under carriage of the washing machine. I checked Sears Parts (online) and only saw an option for drive belt. I plan on going back to double check there's not two like I believed I saw. Hopefully, its as simple as removing the old and putting on the new. Should this fail, I'll guess I'll get a technician out to look at the pump or possibly the motor? Thank you for the direction and assistance, its greatly appreciated.

Q:

How do I determine whether to order the thrust bearing kit or the transmission PAV2300AWW

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your dishwasher. Upon researching model 665133435; the transmission could be damaged internally if it’s turning slowly. The bearings will make a grinding noise. You would have to pinpoint the noise to the exact bearing to know if it’s grinding. If the bearing is bad it could prevent the transmission from spinning at the speed necessary.

Q:

No spin, drain or agitate. PAV2300AWW Maytag Washer

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the washer.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Maytag Washer model number PAV2300AWW.

Overheating smell and tub not agitating sounds like a belt about ready to brake.

Water not draining could be part of the belt or could be needing to check the drain hose for any blockage or by chance it kinked up.

Washer shutting off and not spinning too could be a problem dealt with the lid switch.

If you have really, really liked the machine then may want to get a service man to come in and look at it.   The lid switch is around $39.00, the belt is close to $24.00.   If you can test it out your self would be great.    Most service people would charge around $125.00 to do the repairs.

If it is a matching washer/dryer set then may want to fix it.   If not, to be honest if it was mine.   I'd get a new washer.   Still too many possibilities.
