I am assuming the engine is blowing oil through the pulse hose into the fuel pump.

These engines run a vacuum in the crankcase. The crankcase breather is what maintains the vacuum. If the breather fails and pressure builds in the crankcase oil will blow into the air breather and the pulse hose.

Some things that can cause pressure to build in the crankcase are:

  • Crankcase breather failure

  • Worn rings

  • Worn cylinder walls

  • Air leak around dipstick cap (not sealing).

  • Air leak around o-ring on the oil fill tube

I would check the crankcase breather first. You probably need to clean or replace the pack in the breather outlet anyway.

I am sending you a link to a repair manual for Onan engines. The model number you sent did not run in our system, so I am just giving you general information on Onan engines.
