Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the washer being locked.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Amana model number MFW200TW11.

When the door is  locked shut:  Will not open:

A.  Press the CYCLE SELECTOR dial to stop the washer.

B.  The washer door will remain locked during the heating portion of the Sanitary Cycle (for selected models).

C.  It  will take a few moments for the door lock mechanism to disengage.

D.  If that doesn't work according to the manual then you need a technician to look at it.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Hi,

Thank you for your question. It is concerning when your appliance is not functioning correctly.

I would be assuming the lever is the lever located behind the power button inside of the console. If this is the correct part you are talking about I researched the part and Whirlpool and the Amana look the same and configured the same. Is it possible for you to send me a picture of the lever and the console showing the attachment area so I could have the factory run a parts check for the lever?

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this entry below.
Thank you for using Manage My Life.

This is the lever that locks the door shut. I would call it latch but they call it a lever. The whirlpool part # is AP4044741(34001260) and the Samsung part # is AP4206409(DC66-00326A). BTW the Samsung part # was that part that originally was on the machine that broke. The issue I am having is that the parts are too wide to fit into the hole were it latches down. I have returned that parts so I could not take a picture but I did pull a picture off the internet that I have attached. 2 years ago I ordered this part and it did not work so I took that part and I shaved down the ring part about an 1/8 of an inch on each side and then it fit in and the door would close and latch. Not sure I should have to do that though. I am just completely baffled by this one as the exact same part # is too big to fit. If you can help find an answer to this or that part that actually works it would be greatly appreciated.

Brian, Here is what I have got on the door lever. It has been pulled from the Whirlpool pars and if you get from another source it could be the wrong part. According to Whirlpool you would need to order direct from Whirlpool parts to get the correct one using NFW7200TW11 as the model number.
