Q:

Amana dryer model #NDE2335AYW tumbler will not tumble all the time NDE2335AYW Amana Amama laundry

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Amana Dryer, Model: NDE2335AYW. From reviewing the details on your model, if the dryer is heating but not running you will need to check for a shorted to ground heating element, stuck motor start switch contacts or the belt is off the drum.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the dryer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

Thank You for contacting ManageMyLife.com

I can understand the frustration when your dryer starts squealing. The first item we recommend changing is the Idkler arm with pulley and belt. Any time you change out a bad pulley you always want to change the belt due to extra wear and tear on the belt.

I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the dryer will start and run, the first thing that should be checked is the voltage supply. The dryer must have a 220 volt power supply or it can run but it won't heat. The heating element requires 220 volts in order to heat. I recommend locating the two house circuit breakers dedicated for the dryer and reset both circuit breakers. Flip both breakers off and on 2-3 times and then see if the dryer will heat. If it will not heat, and the dryer is getting 220 volts, it could have faulty heating element, timer, motor centrifugal switch, faulty safety thermostat or burnt wire connection between the timer, motor or heating element. I added an image below with some instructions for accessing the heater and thermostat as well as the wiring diagram. I traced the heater circuit in red. Each component in the heater circuit will need to be disconnected and tested for continuity with an Ohm meter. Which ever component does not measure continuity, replace that component. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

Depending on the failure, I would not be able to provide an estimate of repair. The service technician would have to diagnose and provide an estimate of repair.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
