Everything I read had to do with the length of time it took for water to fill. Possibilities included inlet valve, controller, & pressure switch. Saw nothing about the door lock switch.

Q:

MTW6700TQ1 - LOUD GRINDING NOISE DURING SPIN CYCLE MTW6700TQ1 Maytag Residential washer

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your Washer is making a grinding noise. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information that will assist you. May I  ask is the sound like a howling jet noise or grinding like a gear?  When the rear bearing fails, it will make a very loud noise in the spin cycle like a jet taking off. The bearings can be replaced by replacing the spin basket & the outer tub. If this is the case then you may need to replace the bearing.

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.
