Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your Maytag washer.

From the information you have provided above, I would suggest checking the lid lock assembly. If this part is damaged it won’t allow the washer to spin or drain out. This is a common part to replace when your having this issue. the part number for this is W10059230.

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

I know that it is very important to have your washer working properly. The F54 error code flashes when the machine/motor control board detects high current for the motor module.

This could be caused:

  • Friction
  • Loose wire connections
  • RPS sensor board
  • Stator
  • Motor/Machine control board
  • Tub bearing

This could be caused from overloading or a friction problem. Rotate the basket to see if it turns freely. If not, the cause of the friction will need to be determined. Check under the bottom center area of the washer for any object that possibly could be rubbing the rotor. When the tub has water and clothes in it, the tub will sink down and there will not be much space between the turning rotor of the motor and the floor, and will rub if it happens to be sitting on carpet or if a pet's toy or child toy finds its way under the washer.

If you determine that there is no friction problem I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your washer. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
