Question and Answers

Q:

water and ice dispenser not working MSD2572VEW00 Maytag Side by side refrigerator

Q:

ice maker won't work MSD2572VEW00 Maytag Side by side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your icemaker is not working.

1. Check the temperature of the freezer becasue if it is fewer than 17 degrees F it wont make ice.
2.Check if your water fill spout is plugged with ice, if it is then it wont make ice.
3. Check to see if water is getting to the water inlet valve.
4.Use an OHM meter to check the continuity of the water inlet valve. If it does not have any continuity then you need to replace your water valve. If it does then the icemaker itself is the problem and may need to be replaced.

I'm sorry you are having this problem with your refrigerator. The information you have received from Joseph is good it does not pertain to this problem. If the freezer side is cooling ok, this will normally be an air flow problem. First check the freezer temperature, to make sure it's getting cold enough. It should be between 0 & 5 degrees. If it's not getting cold enough the fridge side won't cool. To check the temperature, place a thermometer between some packages. Air temperature is not a good check. Also check to see if fan motor is running inside the freezer. If the compressor is running, the fan motor inside the freezer should also be running. Another check will be to make sure the light inside the fridge section is turning off, when the door is closed. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further.
