Water dripping MSD2572VEB01 Maytag Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

With this there are a few things that should be check before anything else. Make sure that water catch is not full under where the water comes out at. Next think after you check that would be the water switch. This is what opens when you hit the button to fill your glass. If it’s not closing all the way then water will leak out and down the front of the fridge.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the dispenser stops working. First, make sure the dispenser is not locked. If it's not locked, press the lever in slow and listen for a clicking sound. If you do not hear this sound, it will indicate that either the switch has failed or the actuator is not making contact with it. The front cover will need to be removed, to see if the actuator is making contact with the switch. Disconnect power to the unit before removing the cover (see picture). If you do hear this sound, the most likely problem will be with the interface board but some voltage checks will need to be made, to determine, for sure. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
