Question and Answers

Q:

Do I have to wait 24 hours to plug my refrigertor in, if it was laying on it's side? MSD2359KEB Maytag Maytag refrigeration

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect. I will be more than happy to assist you with your refrigerator.

From the information you have provided above, after researching If the refrigerator was laid on its back or side (or front) and not transported upright (the preferred method) then you will need to wait at least 24 hours to plug it in. Giving it longer (48 hours) would be even better if possible

I hope you found this information useful. Again thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business, have a great day.

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern. There is no specific reason as to why the crack developed and it does not mean the liner has a defect. According to the owner's manual this liner will be repaired under warranty for 5 yrs. Since this unit is more than 5 yrs. it will not be covered by the manufacturer. Now, there is a liner repair kit # 8212572 that will repair this crack. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your answer Scott - The part # 8212572 you mentioned is still not available to order ... what is the difference between that repair kit and the part # 482395 repair kit (besides the $100.00 difference). Thank you again, Paul

The 482395 kit is only tape, it will not include the epoxy or large liner repair material. If you decide to try the tape kit, you will also need to use some RTV # 482338. There is also an epoxy repair kit # 8201700 available, to repair liner cracks. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, I will be glad to assist you further.
