Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

It may not be spinning or unlocking because the washer is not able to drain water. It will not spin nor will it allow the door to unlock if it detects water in the tub. The humming noise is likely the drain pump attempting to run and drain. I would check the drain pump and clean out the drain pump filter. If the drain pump is humming, it could be jammed or faulty. There could also be a restriction in the hose between the bottom of the tub and the drain pump.

The front lower access panel is removable in order to access the drain pump and drain pump filter cap. Be sure to drain the water from the tub before removing the drain pump filter cap or all the water may run out on the floor. If you have a wet/dry shop vacuum, connect the vacuum hose to the end of the drain hose and draw the water out.

To remove the front lower access panel you will need to remove the screws along the bottom of the panel and pivot the bottom outward and then downwards. I added a video showing the procedure of removing the lower access panel and how to remove the drain pump . You may not need to remove the drain pump but at least you will know how if the drain pump needs to removed or replaced.

Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Hi Laurie,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

It is difficult to advise you what is causing this issue without being able to see the washer myself. Additionally if the washer works as designed when your repair person is present, the issue is even harder to diagnose. An electrical issue would show up in diagnostics and a mechanical issue should be apparent to your repair person. If the machine was damaged during a move it is unlikely to cause an intermittent issue.
