Without a model number I'm unable to provide you with model and part specific information. In general, the Maytag Neptune washer has a drain pump and a recirculation pump. The drain pump is the one that will have the drain hose connected to it. Below is an image showing the drain pump and recirculation pump. The drain pump impeller could be damaged causing the lack of water flow through the pump and out the drain hose, which will cause it not to drain completely. I hope this information has assisted you. Thank you for choosing Manage My Life.

Thank you for the model number. You're washer only has one pump which is the drain pump, part number 22003059 priced at $75.73. I recommend accessing the front panel and checking the drain pump for blockage & other problems first. I have provided you with access, testing and replacement instructions in the image below. Remember to _disconnect power_ to the washer before attempting access and use _extreme caution_ when and if checking voltage. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Hi Again, Ok we cleaned the pump and drain hose. Thanks for your help but now it seem as though it's draining but not spining correctly. The first couple of washes we did, it worked fine. Then I put a lot of towels and it is not spinning out right. I took some towels out thinking it might be the weight, but it still does not spin properly. Can you help?

A:

Double check your re-installation of the drain pump. You're drain pump is connected directly to your motor and if not installated properly, it may be affecting the final spin.

Just an update........I double checked the re-installation of the pump and it seemed as though a blue wire had come loose. I'm not sure if it happened when I was removing the front panel or it just came off while in the spinning process. Anyway, now....it is spinning but not draining. So.....my question is.......if the drain pump was faulty would it work every now and then or not work at all. Thanks for your help so far.

From what you're describing it sounds like the drain pump is not working. If the water in the tub does not drain out, the washer will shut down. I recommend accessing the front panel & checking the drain pump for blockage & other problems first. I have provided you with access, testing & replacement instructions in the image below.

Remember to disconnect power to the washer before attempting access & use extreme caution when & if checking voltage.
