Question and Answers

Q:

Roper microwave, model MHE14XMB-4 - door will not latch, light stays on, and microwave will not run.

A:

The microwave not working properly can be an inconvenience and keep you from re heating your food. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a lethal electrical charge even when the microwave is completely unplugged. Door repairs and adjustments, even minor ones, can cause microwave leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test must be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service. I strongly suggest that you have this repair handled only by a qualified service technician. I have provided a link To Sears Home Services if you decide to schedule service. If you think it may be cost effective to just replace the unit, I have also provided a link to the Microwave section of Sears.com to price out what a replacement would cost.

Q:

How do I remove the cooktop light bulb itself?

A:

Getting instructions for removing light bulbs is more important now. Not everything just screws in. While you wait for the expert, you can check the schematics at Sears Parts Direct if you like. I attached the link below.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. The cook top lights will unscrew like a typical light bulb. I added an image of the bulb below.
