Question and Answers

Q:

Why won't my Whirlpool microwave heat?

A:

There could be one of several possible failures preventing the microwave from heating. It could have one of the following failures:

  • Door switch
  • Control board
  • High Voltage transformer
  • Diode/Rectifier
  • Capacitor
  • Magnetron

We do not assist customers in diagnosing microwaves for safety concerns. Microwaves store an extremely amount of high voltage even when unplugged that can be lethal or cause serious person injury.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your microwave.

Q:

Can my Whirlpool above range microwave be repaired?

A:

Yes, your microwave can be repaired but depending on the failure it may not be cost effective to have it repaired.

I recommend visiting Sears.Com and look at some of the prices listed. I saw a couple of models for $300.00 or less. I added the link to Sears.Com below.
