Loud noise is not covered in the troubleshooting guide.

From the description you give the loud noise starts when you turn the unit on.

You don't mention if it works or does anything.

If there are lights then most likely the door switch and fuse are okay.

The most likely cause of the loud noise would be the high voltage transformer, Magnetron or capacitor.

Microwaves do not make good do it yourself projects.

Even unplugged they can still have a lethal amount of voltage.

Honestly I don't know if it's working or not. I shut it down as quickly as possible because of the loud noise. Yes, the lights are on while it's on. Thanks for the advice. We are weighing the pros and cons of fixing this one or just purchasing a new one. Thanks again.
