Question and Answers

Q:

How to remove door on Whirpool Microwave hood combo MH1150XMQ3 MH1150XMQ3

A:

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with you questions about your Whirlpool microwave. I am so sorry to hear that had this experience with your unit. I know what a time saver the microwave and know you want to get it working again quickly. In this case, I suggest you have it tested and repaired by a qualified technician.

We do not give advice on repairing microwave oven because they are inherently dangerous to service. Microwaves contain high voltage internal components that can retain a Lethe electrical charge even when the microwave is unplugged from the outlet. You need special equipment to work on a microwave starting with an antistatic wrist strap grounded to the microwave to even text components in it. Even Minor door repairs and adjustments can cause marriage leakage and a microwave shielding leakage test MUST be performed using a survey meter after any microwave service.

For these safety reasons I strongly recommend having this repair completed by a qualified service technician. Click Here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Here at SearsPartsDirect.com we love to help you with your repairs, but our expert advice is that microwaves are just too dangerous for a do-it-yourself project.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and I hope we can help you with any future questions and repairs. Thank you for choosing Sears and using our SearsPartsDirect.com service

Q:

how do you install a new handle on a over the stove micro

A:

Microwave door handles do get a work out so I am not surprised many need replacement. I located a similar question from a previous post for a similar whirlpool and attached below. It may help while you wait for your expert to review this model.

A:

I recommend that you have a service technician install the handle on this type of microwave door. The door will need to be disassembled to access the screws that secure the handle. That door contains essential shielding components. A microwave radiation shielding leakage test must be performed on the unit using proper testing equipment following this type of repair. That is why I recommend that you have a service technician complete this repair.
