There are not any components inside the microwave that I'm aware of that could fail and cause blue liquid to come out from inside the microwave cavity. If it's not grease then I would not have a clue to what it is or the source of the blue liquid.

I have never heard of this ever happening so I recommend calling a service technician diagnose the source of the blue liquid. This substance may or may not be toxic. I would not recommend using the microwave until the blue liquid has been identified and the source.

I recommend calling Sears at 1-800-4MY-HOME or 1-800-469-4663 to diagnose and repair your microwave.

I'm having the same exact problem with the blue goo! I have a Whirlpool Model #MH2175XST. Did you ever find out what this was? I'll probably call Whirlpool, but decided to do a search and found this discussion.

Hello everyone...this morning I was cleaning the microwave and noitced a blue substance coming from the inside of my Whirlpool microwave model# MH1150XMB-4 manufactured November of 2005. I call the whirlpool phone number 1-800-253-1301 and a lady advised that the circular part on the inside of my microwave which has the blue substance around it is called a wave guide. She said you can attempt to put a little pressure with your hand and see if it snaps back in place as it may have come loose. (Which mine was not) She also advised that if it comes completely off that sparks could fly and that may not be good. Nothing leaked in our food that I was aware of and she said the best thing to clean the microwave with is water...no abrasive cleaners. She also advised to get someone to check the microwave to fix it. Finally, she advised most microwaves last up to 9 years but have one to five year warranties...I think we will purchase another microwave to be on the safe side. (She also advised the blue substance is silicone based.) I hope that helps everyone...and the main point I got was to get it checked and decide whether or not to buy a new one or get the current one repaired.
