Q:

Whirlpool Microwave

A:

If you want to verify that you have the correct part number something that I would recommend you do is speak to a Sears representative from the parts department and have them double check and make sure that is the right part. I attached a link below containing the number if you do not already have it. Have a nice day.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the microwave. If you have pin pointed the problem to the turntable you can verify the problem by unplugging the motor and checking the operation. If the noise goes away the problem is the motor. The part number for the motor is 8183954 and can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

If the noise does not go away with the motor unplugged, I suspect there is an internal problem with the high voltage circuit. I cannot give repair advice on the high voltage circuit because of the dangers of working on the internal components. The unit can contain a lethal charge even when unplugged. I recommend having a service technician repair the microwave. You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Depending on the age and the condition of the microwave, you may consider purchasing a new one. The price of microwaves has gone down a lot in the last few years. Please click on this link to view all of the microwaves we offer.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for using Manage my life.
