It can be very aggravating when your oven will not heat properly. I did some research and provided a link to a similar question and answer on our site. I hope this will shed a little more light on the issue until the Expert responds to your question in more detail within 24 to 48 hours.

I recommend that you check the igniter on that bake burner to see if it is glowing in the bake mode. Here is a brief video that explains the ignition operation in that type of gas oven: Gas Ignition Operation . If that igniter is glowing in the bake mode then the control module is apparently working properly. In that situation, you could have a weak igniter even though it is glowing. The bake and broil burners appear to use the same igniter. You can unplug the range and switch those igniters. See if the bake burner will ignite and heat properly with those igniters switched. If it does, then you can fix this problem by replacing the bad igniter.

You can order parts from this page: Maytag Range Model MGS5770ADW Parts . Be sure that you unplug the range and shut off the gas supply before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

If the igniter does not glow when the oven is set in the bake mode then you could have a wiring failure, a bad igniter, a failed safety gas valve or a problem with the control module. Reply with additional details if you need help diagnosing and repairing that type of failure.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Your details indicated that you wanted us to call you regarding this failure. At this time, we are not set up to make outgoing calls to provide technical advice. Reply to this thread with additional details if you need more help and we will assist you as quickly as possible. Thanks.

Thank you for your question on the range not reading the temperature you set it too.

There are some instructions in the owners manual for electronically adjusting the calibration on the oven control.

You can adjust up to -35 degrees to + 35 degrees on the control.

If it is more that 35 degrees off the control will have to be replaced.

Hear are the instructions in the image below.

The slew is the up and down arrow on for setting the temperature.

Please let me know what you have found, and we can continue our troubleshooting based on that.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.
