Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Just for your information the model number your submitted is not a valid model. I believe the model is MGR6775ADW and not MDR6775ADW.

Having additional details would provide a better understanding of the failure. Since it's a gas oven it must cause a glow bar igniter to glow red hot when the upper oven is turned on. If you turn on the broiler and look up inside the upper oven cavity you will find a glow bar igniter glow red and then it will eventually cause the gas valve to open and then ignite from the glowing igniter. The bake operation operates the same with the exception that the glow bar igniter and burner is located under the floor of the upper oven cavity. Remove the floor of the upper oven and then start the upper oven and watch to see if the igniter glows red or not. If it glows, then the oven is not heating because the igniter is too weak to cause the gas valve to open, replace the bake igniter.

If the bake igniter is NOT working, it could have one of several different component failures which you will likely need to call a service technician to diagnose which component has failed. Disconnect the power supply from the range before removing and replacing the bake igniter if you find it glowing and no burner operation.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

how can I change my stove from LP to natural gas, maytag model MGR6775ADW

A:

You will need to replace the surface burner orifices & orifice hoods for the bake & broil burners & set the regulator to NAT. Please see the instructions provided below for the LP conversion. Reverse the procedure for converting back to natural gas.
