A:

Good afternoon.... I can understand your concern and you've done a good job at trying to get to the bottom of this problem. Have you checked the house venting system to the outside? I did locate a link that will discuss the belt and pulley system in greater detail. Keep in mind that an expert will be responding within the next two business days if not sooner and will likely offer you more information and instruction. I hope this link will help guide you as to what might wrong with your dryer and have a nice day.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

This blower is driven by a blower belt. Make sure the blower belt was routed on the blower pulley and motor pulley. If it was; remove the belt from the blower pulley and then grasp the blower pulley and rotate it back and forth rapidly to see if it appears to be slipping. The blower pulley mounting nut has been known to become loose causing the pulley to slip on the blower shaft. If the blower nut is loose; see the instructions in the image below.

This may be the issue. If not, please reply and I will be glad to assist you further.

Thank you very much, guys! This is what we did. We got the dryer apart using some youtube videos, the first part of this one was the best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzNMveD4584 Then, we did find the mounting nut had fallen off. I know some think the belt might be loose also, but we just decided to put ours back on using some loctite on the threads to make sure it doesn't wiggle off again and the for the belt put the twist in it mentioned in this exchange: http://www.justanswer.com/appliance/5sqqb-hi-maytag-bravos-super-quiet-300-series-dryer.html It has worked very well since that time. The vent to the outside was immediately warm from the heat blowing out. . .this did not happen when the belt was off and blower not being pulled to bring the air to the outside.

Hello Bonnie and Kurt,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having difficulties with your dryer and I would like to assist you. Be sure to unplug the dryer prior to servicing it! I do not have a video, but I have attached an image of the belt routing, as an attachment at the end of this reply. I have also attached instructions and illustrations from the service manual that describe the front panel removal. If you need, refer to the additional information on the post that Henry linked to.

Please let me know what you find and if you would like any further assistance.
