Question and Answers

Q:

Is there a conversion kit to change this dryer from natural gas to propane if so what is the part number? MGDB200VQ0 Maytag Residential dryer

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about a gas conversion kit for your Maytag dryer model MGDB200VQ0 . There is a kit to change it from natural gas to propane. The new kit number is W10606694A. The kit isn't currently coming up on our SearsPartsDirect.com website. However, if you call our PartsDirect line at 1-800-366-7278, a Parts Advisor will be happy to order the kit for you.

The conversion kit will have all the parts needed and the step-by-step instructions on how to complete the conversion. Some parts may not need to be replaced, just adjusted or inverted. This is not a do-it-yourself type of project. Please provide the kit and instructions to your installer.

Safety Warning:  Gas conversions are very dangerous if not completed properly. When improperly installed, they can cause gas leaks which can result in fires, property damage, injury or even death.  For this reason many state have laws requiring they be completed by a qualified technician. I recommend contacting your local gas supply company. Many companies send qualified technicians to complete gas conversions for the safety of their customers.

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

Maytag Dryer Door Latch

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If you can't pry the two female catches out using a couple of small pocket screwdrivers, then you will have to remove the outer door panel in order to access the two female catches. You will have to squeeze the two locking tabs and push the door catch out. Since you will replace them anyway, do be afraid of messing them up. Just be careful and avoid scratching any paint off. If want to take the outer door panel off, remove the screws along both outer edges of the door. You will have to remove the door in order to do remove the outer door panel. The screws on the hinge must come out.

The door catches part# W10111905 will need to be replaced. You can look up and order a pair at Searspartsdirect.com

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
