Q:

Maytag Gas Dryer - MGD9700SQ0 - No Longer Working After Circuit Tripped MGD9700SQ0

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I know how important a dryer is in the home. For your Maytag gas dryer MGD9700SQ0, there is 1 of 2 possibilities. When the circuit breaker was tripped, it could have caused the thermal fuse to burst. When the thermal fuse has burted, this can cause the 'SENSING' light to go on. The other problem you may have is the control board may have shorted due to the circut trip. The tripped circuit may have shorted a component in the board causing the clicking sound you hear. I do recommend replcing the thermal fuse first to see if this resolves the issue.
I have included a video that shows a step by step showing you how to test and replace the thermal fuse. For the video, you can click here.

You can give us a call at 1800-366-7278 or click here to get that fuse ordered if you have not already.

If you do not feel comfortable testing and/or replacing this part, I recommend having a technician go out to your home for the repair. If you would like a Sears technician to complete the repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to comment back. I hope this helps you. Have a great day.
