My fridge does not seem to be draining in the pan in the back, instead it is draining in the bottom of the freezer. Ice builds up the during the defrost cycle .

A:

It sounds like the evaporator drain is stopped up. To clean the drain you need to remove the drawer and remove the cover on the evaporator.

Defrost the ice and frost from the evaporator and evaporator drain pan. Don't use a sharp object to remove any frost or ice. The evaporator coil and tubing is aluminum and will puncture easily. Melt the ice and frost with a hair dryer.

Clean the drain pan with a cleanser such as Comet. You need to remove any oil from the pan. When the drain is open, pour 1/2 cup very hot water through it to clean the drain hose.
