Your details seem to indicate that you have a bad selector switch on the dual element. You can unplug the range and check the wiring on that switch. If the switch is jammed and will not select the large element then I recommend that you just replace it.

You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website.

I provided the wiring diagram in the image below. This will help you check the wiring on the dual burner selector switch. If the wiring is okay, I recommend that you replace that switch.

Check to see how the burner works after replacing that switch. If it still does not heat properly, reply with additional details and we will assist you with further diagnostic help.

For the problem with the oven element, I recommend that you check the actual oven temperature using an accurate thermometer. Set the oven to 350 and allow 45 minutes for the oven to preheat and cycle several times. Take an average temperature over a 10 minute period to determine the actual temperature and compare that to the set temperature. If the actual oven temperature is accurate, then you should have no problems with the oven. If it is slightly off, you can adjust the temperature using the procedure shown on page 10 of your owner's manual. Here is a link for that manual in case you need it: Owner's Manual .

I hope that this information helps. Reply with additional details if you need more assistance.

I agree with Maira. I recommend that you contact Sears PartsDirect to discuss this problem with them directly. The phone number is 1-800-252-1698.

The damaged control board probably burned some wires off of the voltage supply circuit or damaged the connection plugs for the control board. I would not have advised you to install the damaged control board. I recommend that you have a service technician physically examine the range and check the wiring. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

The range could have wires that are shorted to the metal cabinet. I don't recommend that you plug the range back in until a service technician examines it.
