Q:

Gemini Clock replacement for MER6770AAW

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. Being that the clock has been updated you would have to follow the instructions. The instructions are provided so if a tech replaces the board they as well will have it. I would not be able to read the instructions and look at the parts without being there. I would recommend to call our repair department to have a tech replace the board. Control boards can be damaged by static electricity or if mishandled.

Q:

I have a Maytag Gemini Model: MER6770AAW... Got code F3-1

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com and being a valued member.  I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your range displays an error code.

F3: Open or shorted sensor. The cancel key resets the control and stops the alarm. If fault is still present it will reactivate the alarm when a cook mode is chosen.

Correction: Check sensor and wiring for shorted or open circuit.
You will need to check the upper oven sensor with an
OHM meter. Ohm Sensor (1050-1100ohms) @ room temperature when checked every 6 seconds.

A:

Having your range malfunction and display error codes can be very aggravating. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I did some research on the unit. At this time, I was unable to locate information that would be helpful in regards to your question. Some of these questions that are asked will need specific research and will be answered by an expert with-in two business days but usually sooner.

Thank you for submitting your question on ManageMyLife.com.

On the Maytag electric ranges, that F1 8 error code normally indicates that you have a bad membrane keypad. That component normally needs to be replaced to fix this type of problem. There are times when corrosion of the wire harness connections or a loose wiring connection could cause that code to be displayed. You can unplug the range and check those wiring connections. Clean the contacts and reassemble the range. If the code returns, then you will probably need to replace that membrane keypad. I have included a link to our Sears PartsDirect webpage where you can purchase the part. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.
