Question and Answers

why broil heats but bake doesn't? gemini mer6769baq, replaced bake element already.

Since you replaced the bake element and the it is still not heating, the failure could be in the electronic oven control board or the wiring. Some series of ranges in this model number category also have a remote DLB (Double Line Break) relay in the circuit as shown on the wiring diagram below. The first two numbers of the serial number indicate the series number of your range. If your serial number begins with 19 or above, then the wiring diagram in the first image applies to your range. If it begins with numbers less than 19 then the wiring diagram in the second image applies.

Unplug the range and check the wiring connections based on this information. The procedure for accessing the control board in the console is shown in the third image. If you are able to find a loose or broken wiring connection, you may be able to fix this problem yourself. If you need more help, resubmit your question with the serial number of your range.

If you do not find a bad wiring connection, I recommend that you have a technician diagnose and repair the range. The technician will likely need to conduct some live voltage checks to determine the cause your failure.
