Q:

My oven and clock do not work MER5775QAS Maytag Maytag cooking

Q:

Oven slow in heating up.

A:

Waiting for the oven to heat is acceptable unless it is taking two hours. The expert will review and respond, but I did attach two links that may help while you wait. The first is a previous post and the second is to the owner's manual. Try the recalibration on page 14. That may be all it needs. I hope this information helps speed up the oven.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I assume the surface elements are working properly.

Disconnecting and re-connecting the power supply should not have caused the oven to take 2 hours to heat to the desired temperature. It's possible it could have faulty bake or broil element. The bake and broil elements will need to be disconnected and tested with an Ohm meter. NOTE: Disconnect the range from the power supply before servicing the range.

I added a YouTube video showing how to test the oven sensor and a video showing how to test the oven elements .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

The F40 error code indicates a failure of the cooktop lockout board. The cooktop lockout board is not communicating with the main EOC electronic oven control. This could be a loose wiring harness or either the EOC board or cooktop lockout board is faulty. This type of diagnosis will require using a volt/ohm meter.
