There is a chance that a power surge through the electrical lines during that power outage or storm may have damaged that electronic control component.

The procedure for setting the clock on that range is shown in the image below. Here is a link for the full owner's manual on that range: Owner's Manual .

If that clock display is completely blank and will not light up, then you may have a bad electronic clock control board. You can unplug the range and check the wiring on that back of that component. If you find not wiring problems, then you may be able to fix this problem yourself by replacing that electronic control (part number 5701M760-60). Here is a direct link for that part: Electronic Control for Maytag Range MER5552BAW . Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing and replacing that component.
