I'm sorry to hear of the heating issue you are having with the Maytag dryer, I know how frustrating that can be, especially if the clothes are piling up.

If the unit turns on and the drum rotates but has no heat, it definitely sounds like a heat component issue, more than likely the heating element itself. There are other parts that make up the heating system that should also be diagnosed or looked at, these include: thermal cutoff with high limit thermostat, thermal fuse, and the low limit thermostat. I would check these at the same time as the element.
