Yes, the vent tube should be connected to the blower assembly inside the cabinet of the dryer. First, disconnect power to the dryer. Refer to the image below for reference. Remove the center hinge screw & the 2 on the opposite side also, follow the image. The front panel will come off next, like in the image.

After removing the front panel, look for the vent tube next to the blower assembly. The collar should lock in place on one end and a metal tab will secure it to the back of the dryer with a screw on the other end.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: sears home service
