Question and Answers

Q:

cleaning excess lint MDE3757AYW Maytag Maytag laundry

A:

Thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com, and for being a valued member.

The easiest way to clean the excess lint from the lint duct would be to use a lint brush. With the lint brush, you wouldn’t have any disassembly and could use the brush through the rear exhaust port to capture any lint blockage or excess lint from within the unit. I have linked the brush below for purchase if desired. If you have an air compressor, you could also shoot compressed air through the lint screen housing and push all the lint to the rear, and out the exhaust port. A lint brush may still be needed to pick up any left overs that didn’t exit the port.

The link below is a kit for both the dryer lint brush and the refrigerator coil brush. It is a better buy rather than just purchasing the lint brush singly.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I added an image below of the procedure for removing the drum. The noise could be emitting from one of the drum support rollers or the belt tensioner pulley. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Q:

Why is my Maytag dryer shutting off after running for a few minutes?

A:

The parts you mentioned would not stop the motor from running, just the heat from coming on. It sounds like the motor is overheating. You may want to inspect the motor for loose connections & overheating. Be sure the exhaust vent is clear.
