Having an appliance we count on a daily base to starts giving out can be really frustrating. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, a suggestion I have is to visit Sears Home Services website to set service with a Sears technician. Hope this helps!

Hi Aooddy,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

I am sorry you are having problems with your dryer.

I assume your dryer is tripping the household breaker. If the dryer will run in air fluff this indicates an issue in the heat circuit and not the motor circuit. The air fluff will run the motor but the heat is not used.

I am including an image below with the diagram and troubleshooting information.

The remaining checks will require the use of an ohm/volt meter and you will have to perform ohm checks and/or live voltage checks. If you have a meter and are confident in your ability to safely perform these checks, reply to this post and I will be happy to assist you in any way I can.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this is helpful. Check the things I have covered here and if I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thanks again for using Manage My Life.

Hi Landell, I had fixed the problem on Maytag Dryer yet. All of problems came from motor only. So I would share to all friends who may get the same problem as me. Summary problems 1. Dryer will power off by breaker trip (when set heater enable) 2. Dryer can not start (when set heater both enable or disable) 3. Motor overload protected Cause of problem (on my dryer) 1. Rotor part rotated and attacked frame 2. Booths of motor loosed and more friction Fix the problem 1. Disassembly motor 2. Add the ball baring parts into rotor motor both front and back side After fix 1. Dryer can start any time event motor hot condition 2. Current consumption lower and no breaker trip 3. Rotor rotate stable Fortunately my motor did not burn so that I can use it to fill ball baring parts with small cost. I wish my problem will bring you the idea to fix your problems. The new motor does not use ball baring part, it is the main cause for problem. But if you modify by using ball baring parts, it can extend time to use dryer for long run.
