Hi Steve,

Thank you for submitting a question to Manage My Life.

He was most likely referring to the fill valve, but leaks can come from a number of things on the bottom of a dishwasher. Here are some areas to check:

  1. Installation.Check Dishwasher for proper leveling and squareness in cabinet.
  2. Door Alignment. Check proper alignment of Door Liner to Door Gasket.
  3. Door Gasket. Check for torn or damaged Door Gasket. Repair or replace as necessary.
  4. Hoses. Check for loose hose clamps or hoses that leak. Tighten hose clamps or replace hoses as needed.
  5. Spray Arms / Manifold. Check for cracks and replace as necessary.
  6. Detergent / Rinse Aid Dispenser Seal. Check Rinse Aid Dispenser Seal for proper positioning or cracking. Reposition or replace as needed.
  7. Water Valve. Check Water Valve body for damage and leaks. Replace if necessary. Also, check plumbing connections to Water Valve.
  8. Wash Motor Assembly. Check for water leak between Pump Assembly and tub.
  9. Drain Pump Assembly. Check Pump Assembly Housing for cracks. Check Drain Pump "O" ring for leaks.

Check the areas I listed above and see if you can locate the leak. I have included the disassembly instructions in the images below. Always unplug or de-energize electrical equipment before removing covers or attempting service. Be careful and wear appropriate hand protection when working around sharp metal parts.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Here is a link that you may use to view the parts list diagram or to purchase any parts needed; Sears Parts Direct .

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please reply to this post.
