Question and Answers

Q:

Dishwasher question MDB8959AWS2 Maytag Undercounter dishwasher

A:

Thank you for your question. As for your Maytag dishwasher blowing your fuse. And in your findings you have found some hotspots on the relay on your board. It sounds like the relay is shorting out amd I certainly would replace the board. Be sure you go to any electronic parts store and buy yourself an electrical ground strap, follow the instructions on the packaging on how to ground yourself. This is a precaution to help you. These boards are so expensive. The strap will prevent the body electricity from your body shorting out the board before you istall it. So, yes replace the board and the fuse.

Get all your parts at www.SearsPartsDirect.com              your fuse part number is 661663                                    your control board part number is W10285179

If you have anymore questions or concern reply to this post.

Q:

Why are the control panel lights blinking on my Maytag dishwasher?

A:

The control lights blinking are caused by a faulty control. The control has 1 or more keys shorted. You will need to have the control replaced to solve this problem.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

Would the same answer hold true for my Maytag model MDB8959AWS2? the delay number 2 was flashing along with the cancel and start/resume lights. After unplugging it for several minutes, other lights started flashing. My husband would be comfortable replacing it is there a place to pick up the part today in zip code 08107?
