Question and Answers

Q:

Door handle is stuck. How do I open the door? MDB8750AWW Maytag Dishwasher

A:

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher. There is no easy way to manually open the door. To do this, you need to pull on the door to create a gap. Then use a flat head screwdriver to push the strike out of the latch. Once the door is open you can replace the latch. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services. Click on "Get Started" and follow the directions, click on the red "NEXT" button to continue. I hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. Thank you for your question.

I will be happy to assist you. If there is not enough water pressure developed by the wash motor impeller the lower spray will not likely spin or clean the lower rack. There is good chance that the motor shaft is stripped and causing the wash impeller to slip on the motor shaft causing a lack of water pressure to develop. There is kit to resolve this type of failure. Generally all you need to replace is the motor shaft and seal. The kit will come with instructions. The part number is 6-919539 and can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct .

I have posted a few images to aid in replacing the parts.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Q:

What's wrong with my Maytag dishwasher that won't start?

A:

The touch panel ribbon connections should be check for any loose or corroded connections where it connects to the control board. It could also have a bad touch panel, control board, door switch or door latch failure. There should be a technical data sheet located behind the toe panel with some troubleshooting information and test.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your dishwasher.
