Dishwasher Touchpad Won't Start Appliance MDB7809AWW2

A:

It can be a real headache when the touchpad on your dishwasher fails. I did some research and provided a link to a similar question and answer on our site. I hope this will shed a little more light on the issue until the Expert responds to your question in more detail within 24 to 48 hours.

I have an idea of the need for a working dishwasher with three boys.

It does sound like the keypad control is faulty. I am e-mailing as well as attaching a key pad check for you to use to see if the control can be salvaged. Sometimes the ribbon is not connected securely. Remember to disconnect power to the dishwasher prior to any service or repairs .If not, then you can order a new console part W10199784, W10199785, W10199786, or W10199787 according to your dishwasher color. It can be ordered here; Sears Parts Direct . I would also verify the door is making good contact when closed. This can also keep the dishwasher keypad from responding.

I have a similiar problem with the same model as above, however mine has been doing crazy things for the last year. The lights flash, and sometimes it worked after I did the test on the drawing pushing buttons heated dry -normal, heated dry- normal, heated dry-normal within 6 seconds. Sometimes it wouldn't work so I took the control panel off and also removeved the circuit board to see if there were any loose connections, put it back together and it would work for a day or two. Then the same thing would happen and I would do the complete procedure again. Te normal light and the steam light come on but it still doesn't work any ideas Thanks Bill

My problem is that when the dishwasher is latched in the closed position all of the control buttons work except the start button and the delay button. Also recently the dishwasher stops occasionally during a run cycle. Could it be the pressure switch that is activated when the unit is closed or is it likely to be the control panel. Thanks Bob
