The start button is not a good button to be broke.

First I'd suggest you try and enter a diagnostic test. Unfortunately both test require the start button to work.

The 3rd image shows how to access the control. Remember to turn the power off first. You can check the connections there and see if there is any change.

You can reply with any additional details or images for further assistance.

Q:

What is wrong with a Maytag model MDB7751AWW dishwasher that runs all night and will never shut off?

A:

When a dishwasher runs all night the most likely problem is the control board.

If you'd like to check the problem further the image below contains the instructions for running a diagnostic cycle.

The image contains two tests. The first test I recommend you run is the "Field Service Test" which will run all functions of the dishwasher and should flash an error code to indicate what the control thinks is wrong. Check which if any LED lights flash after the test.

Next if you get a specific error code or wish to check the components manually you can run the "Manual Function Test" as described in the image below. You can check the heating element in this test.

If there are no errors and the element checks okay then the control is the most likely cause of this problem.

I hope this information helps to resolve this problem you have. If you have other questions after running the diagnostics then submit another question with any additional details for further assistance with this problem.
