Question and Answers

Q:

dishwasher MDB7609AWW1 Maytag Dishwasher

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your dishwasher and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number mdb7609aww1 and from your description you are loosing 14vac between your L1 and neutral. This can cause issues with wash motor, but the control should light up even with less than optimal line voltage. You may want to have an electrician evaluate that issue before replacing an expensive computer board; it could ultimately have something to do with why your board will not function.

We are told never to operate sensitive electronics with a plus or minus 10 percent of line voltage situation, in your case this would be 108vac. You are just under the 10 percent, but in the world of electronics, one board may take this well while another will not. I would not recommend replacing the control until this low voltage issue is rectified. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Maytag dishwasher isn't starting.

A:

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. You may be experiencing an issue with a shorted or stuck key on the touch pad (W10254846). If you have an ohms/volt meter you can test the keys on the touch pad to verify the part. The image below will assist you with performing this test. You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. If you do not feel comfortable performing test or repairing this problem yourself, I recommend scheduling for service. You can schedule for service online with our Sears Home Services team. Q:

CAnt select when cycle or start dishwasher MDB7609AWW1 Maytag Dishwasher

A:

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry you are having a problem with your Maytag MDB7609aww1 Dishwasher.  You should be able to select all cycles and options.  If you can not then most likely the problem is the console has a stuck or shorted keypad.  If the start light is blinking when you try to start the unit then the control thinks the door is open and the problem might be the door switches.  If you can not select all cycles and options then you will most likely need to replace the Console.   This could be a do-it-yourself project is you fill comfortable doing such projects.  Remember to turn the power off first.  I hope this helps.  You can reply below with any additional details for further assistance.
