Q:

dishwasher water won't drain out of tub at end of cycle MDB7600AWW Maytag Maytag dishwasher

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your dishwasher and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number MDB7600AWW and from the description you give most but not all of the water drains out. Most likely something is restricting the drain. I'd suggest you start by checking and cleaning the filters in the dishwasher. The round filter can be pulled out and you can visually check the other filter. If the drain hose goes to a garbage disposal then the nozzle of the disposal may be partially clogged. You can remove the hose and use a screwdriver to poke through the nozzle to feel for any obstructions. I don't suspect the drain pump is at fault sine usually if the pump is bad it doesn't drain at all. If the drain line goes to an air gap then the restriction can be there. Check the filters and reply with any additional details for further assistance. If you have further questions please let me know.

Thank you for your reply. Filters did not look obstructed. I tried blowing in the disconnected drain tube (at sink drain) to see if I could back blow any obstruction that may be present, but was met with a lot of resistance. I am assuming I am blowing against the pump itself, or should this blow freely? I can't see any activity in the sitting water at the bottom of the tub when I back blow the drain tube, but sounds like a may be moving something. During the interim, I inadvertently pulled the float up and off the protruding stem at the bottom of the tub, not sure I was supposed to do that as it took a little effort to get it to come off. After that, I took kick plate off to see what was under that. looks like it operates an electronic switch, and the switch lever goes up and down like one thinks it should. However, something snapped when I pulled up on the float, so I am not certain what held the small float stem that protrudes down to the electronic switch, to the small metal electronic switch lever (if anything?). Do I now need to replace this part as well, or is it ok for float stem to just ride on the switch lever that comes out of the electronic switch? Could the electronic float switch be bad, as it looks as though that is what signals the pump to kick on when the water reaches a certain level? I am still not certain the pump is bad. How can I test if the pump is working? Still not certain what the problem is. Thank you for your time.

Q:

maytag dishwasher mdb7600aww has no power

A:

I understand how frustrating this type of issue can become with your dishwasher. I am happy to help. One of the first things to check is the circuit breakers. Make sure it didn't trip so power is going to the unit. If the breaker looks okay, then there could be an issue with the control or circuit board not getting power. However, it will be best to make that check first to be sure. Once that is done, please reply back with further details.
