Where do you find the thermal fuse. MCE8000AYW Maytag Maytag laundry

Thank you for your inquiry on your Maytag Dryer, Model: MCE8000AYW. From reviewing the details on your model, I have provided a link to the parts diagram that shows you where the thermal fuse is located. The thermal fuse is key number 21 on the diagram.

Upper dryer not drying MCE8000AYW Maytag Maytag laundry

A:

Yes. The upper part of the drying cabine has a separate heating element. The heating element could be defective but you could also have a number of other failures that would prevent that cabinet from heating. You could have a blown thermal fuse, a failed high limit thermostat, a defective thermistor, a failed relay control board or a bad logic board. 

Before replacing the heating element, I recommend that you perform some testing and diagnosis. I'll send you the technical information for that drying cabinet. Note: That service information is intended for technicians. Follow electrical safety standards when accessing and testing components in the drying cabinet. Unplug the drying cabinet before accessing internal components.
