Question and Answers

Why won't my washer agitate or drain and spin?

It's not likely a timer failure, but a lid switch failure. I added an image of the lid switch (key#11), lid cam (key#6), lid switch plunger (key#4) and the lid switch plunger guide (key#5) so that you can identify the parts that I'm referring to.

Most likely from reading your details it indicates that the lid switch (key#11) is not closing. If the lid is opened or if the lid switch is not closing when the lid is shut the washer is not going to run during the agitation or drain and spin cycles.

Open the lid and locate the little plunger (key#4) that the lid cam (key#6) would strike and push when the lid would be shut. It appears by the image it would be located at the back center area of the tub opening. With the lid open, use some sort of a non metallic object and manually push it in too see if will start draining and spinning. Make sure you have the timer set.

If it runs and then quits again, I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and replace the lid switch if needed.
