Question and Answers

Q:

water temp MAV7600AWW Maytag Washer

A:

Hello, glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. We, at Sears, value your service.

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the washer.

Glad to help out.  I’m looking at your Maytag Washer model number MAV7600AWW.

First thing to do is turn the water tap off to the washer.  Unplug the washer hose at the valve and see if there is any condensation that needs to be scraped off.

This seems most likely to be either the water valve or the temperature switch.

There are some tricks to checking this problem.

First you can remove the cabinet to access the valve after unplugging the washer.

Try swapping the wires. If you put the two wires from the cold valve onto the hot valve see if you get hot water during the fill. If you do get hot water then the problem is most likely the temperature switch.

If you still don't get hot water then the valve is bad.

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry you are having a problem with your Maytag Mav7600aww washer

If the wasyer will fill and agitate the motor is likely okay.

If everything works but the drain and spin cycle then the most likely cause of your problems is the lid switch

The lid switch plunger may also be part of the problem.

Try pushing down on the lid and see if the spin will start. The top can be raised by using a putty knife to release the two clips holding the front of the top panel.  The clips are located about 2 inches in from the corners.

I hope this helps.  You can reply below with any additional details for further assistance.

Hello, I have a MAV7600AWW washer that appears to do everything but rotate the bowl during the spin cycle. I have checked the belt under the machine, and it appears to be in good repair. (rotates correctly on all pullys.) When spin cycle interval is selected, motor runs as if spinning, and I can hear the pump running and there is no excess water in the bowl, except for the unrung clothes. The lid switch is working correctly, as the motor will stop when the lid is opened. It appears that a solenoid is not actuating to engage a pawl of some sort. What's your take? And what might be the process for repair? Thank you in advance for your wisdom......!
