Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Maytag model number mav7057aww.

What causes the washer to spin is the belt.   Sounds like the belt may of slipped or broke.   I would take a look under the machine and take a look.

It sounds like the suspension springs for the washer may have been stretched. This will cause the terrible vibration you are getting from the washer. Suspension springs (part number 21001598) will need to be replace. The springs is key number 18 in the image provided below. You can order this part from Sears Parts Direct for $5.17. If you don't feel comfortable in performing this repair yourself, then I recommend having a technician service the unit. You can schedule service through Sears Home Services .
