Hi,

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance not working.

From the way you have stated the problem, there is a problem with the transmission.  Below is the operation of the transmission, and for the transmission to drive the agitator the transmission shaft must turn.  The squealing is the belt and this is another thing that will need to be checked out.  The belt is tensioned by the motor which has a clip spring the keep the belt tensioned.  The belt can be checked by tipping the washer back and checking the condition of the belt.  If it is shiny and hard on the sloped sides the belt may just be worn and slipping.  Here is a link to the belt.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Bill
