Question and Answers

Q:

My Maytag washing machine won’t run. Any suggestions?

A:

From what you’re describing it sounds like the speed switch or low voltage from supply. Try another speed setting to see if this helps. If the speed switch has bad contacts you will be sending the incorrect voltage to the motor. This will cause the symptoms you described. You will need a volt meter to confirm the correct voltage is being supplied to the washer. Check the plug voltage when the motor is trying to start to see if the voltage is failing under a load. Another possibility is a wiring harness problem. Speed switch part number; 22004005 www.searspartsdirect.com
