Blank Screen on Vizio TV

A:

With no television repair centers in your area, I can understand you trying to repair the Vizo television yourself. The link provided below may have some information you will be interested in. An expert will respond within 24-48 hours to your specific questions.

I am not sure what the part is in the picture. I cannot find any information in the service documents that show what it is or that it is even there. Can you take another picture that is a little further back to see where it is in the TV? The inverter board is more likely to be the issue then the main board.

Attached are the pictures you requested. It is located in the bottem corner right below the controls. The white wire connects to the Wireless USB MODULE AW-NU148 along with a second wire that goes to another goldish "chip" located near this center of the TV along the bottem as well. I forgot to mention in my first post too that the screen was orinigally just fuzzy, after leaving it off for 24 hours when turned on there was a crackling in the lower left corner (same area as this "chip") after a minute or so the crackling stoped and a second or two later is when the screen went blank. If it is the inverter board, where can I find that Vizparts does not have that one, and where is it located in the TV? Once again, thank you for any assistance you caan provide.

The chip looks like it is a blue tooth antenna. It is not listed in the service information, but the cable might be a coax cable that has a center and outer wire. This would cause the arc marks on the chip from the first picture. The problem could be in the power supply or the inverter board. Vizio does not supply replacement inverter boards, but you might be able to do a simple internet search and find them. The inverter boards sit on the right and left sides of the TV.

I am confused so I am hoping you can clarify. You said the inverter boards were on the sides but when I look up the inverter board it is listed as the large white board in the center of the TV, which I can not find anywhere for sale other than purchasing a repair kit with a main board as well, neither or which is returnable. I would be willing to purchase the extra items if necessary, but I want to make sure this is the problem first. Is there a way to test it? Also, is this the board you are referring to since it is not in the locatation you said? I found nothing on the sides of the TV nor saw anything on the schematics. Thanks agains

I took a close look at the diagram. It looks like the inverter boards are imbedded into the LCD panel assembly and cannot be replaced by themselves. This is the first set that I have seen this type of set up. Normally the inverter boards are on the outer edges of the panel. Unfortunately, I do not think you will be able to repair your TV.
