Q:

Vizio M470NV Back Cover M470NV Vizio Led television

A:

use the TV model # on sears parts direct and see if the part you need is available, some are part of the screen and not worth the cost to fix because you need the whole screen and some are bolted to the screen frame and are easily repaired or replaced. it just depends on if they are part of the screen or are bolted to the screen.

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Visio Television. I am so sorry to hear the mounting screws are stripped. This is a repair you can complete yourself. I will be happy to help you with this.

SAFETY WARNING: Unplug the power cord of the TV to prevent the risk of electrical shock. Internal parts of the TV may have sharp edges that can cause serious cuts. Use caution and wear protective gloves if possible.

You will need to lay the TV, screen down to work on it. I recommend placing a blanket or soft towels on a sturdy table or on the floor to help protect the screen from damage. There will be multiple screws that will need to be removed. I recommend using a small bowl to keep the screws in as you remove them, that will keep them from getting lost.

Once all the screws are removed, you wil be able to remove the back cover. Only pull it off far enough for you to disconnect the ribbon cable connected to the circuit broad. Now you can remove the old back cover and reverse the above process to install the new one. I have included the link for you to order the back cover.

Back Cover for Visio Television Model M470NV.

If you are not comfortable completing this repair yourself, you can have a Sears' Technician complete the repair for you. To set up service please go to www.SearsHomeServices.com or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answers your questions. If I can be of further assistance, please respond to this thread. Thanks for for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business.

replacing the back cover will not fix Gregg's issue. he will spend over 90 dollars for nothing because if you have ever removed a back cover on a TV you would know that the back plastic cover does not and would not support the weight of the TV. it only has the holes in it for the bolts to pass through and then screw into the frame or panel of the TV.

Anonymous - thank you for your input. I misread the initial question and appreciate you pointing out that I had missed the point on this one.

Gregg - after reading what Anonymous wrote, I reviewed the parts diagram for you again. I want to apologize I did not give you a complete answer earlier. I show there are wall mount brackets located between the rear cover and the display panel. I also see that the mounting bolts go through the rear cover and into the front bezel. I have included the links for those parts for you.

Front Bezel for Vizio TV Model M470NV.

Wall Mount Bracket for Vizio TV Model M470NV.

Unfortunately the information we have on this model is incomplete. Not all of the parts in the parts diagram on our site are identified. To ensure you get all the parts you would need to complete this repair, I recommend contacting Vizio directly. I have their contact information as 1-877-698-4946.

Again, I would like to apologize for not fully answering your question. If I can be of any further assistance, please let me know. Thank you again for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com

I just looked at the Bezel on the diagram and it looks like the wrong part to repair the broken wall mounting screw holes. The Bezel looks like it sits over the screen, like the bezel of a watch. My problem are the four stripped screw mounting holes found in the back cover of the tv. Help! Thanks Gregg

OMG the bezel has nothing to do with the wall mount screws. once again if you ever worked on a TV which is very obvious you did not ever remove the rear cover on a TV so how can you be a expert on TV's. Gregg you are correct about the bezel, the wall mount mounting brackets are they screwed on with screws. some have a tab that fits into a slot and a screw holds the other end to the panel. are there any screws in the mounting brackets do they look like they come off or are they part of the panel that the main board and power supply bolts onto with small screws.

With this type of symptom the problem is most likely the LCD panel assembly itself. Replacement panels are not available for your model.
