Can I service my washing machine if I think there is a sock stuck in the filter? LXR9245EQ1

Thank you for your inquiry on your Whirlpool Washer, Model: LXR9245EQ1. From reviewing the details on your model, if you feel that you are mechanically inclined enough to service the washing machine, I don’t believe there would be a problem with you servicing your washer. 

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the washer to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

Caution: Contents inside the washer unit could have sharp edges. Make sure you wear protective gloves during the repair.

I'm looking at your model number lxr9245eq1 and from description I suspect that you have a problem with the suspension. I recommend removing the cabinet from the machine and visually inspecting and watch the machine for any damaged, out of place or broken parts that may be affecting the washers tub. If you are attempting to do this repair, you are require to remove the cabinet and try to determine what is causing the issue otherwise I recommend that you contact a service technician that can do the repair. Hi,

Thank you for your question, and I would like to answer the question this way.
The lower part of the agitator is affixed to the drive tube and is held in place with the screw on the top of the agitator shaft. Sometimes the plastic wears down and the splines will not grip the shaft splines. The shaft in question it the gearcase shaft.
