Q:

Washer lid magnet to hold lid up LTE5243DQB Whirlpool Thin-twin (washer/dryer)

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I understand how important it is to be able to replace parts in your washer. However, your model does not have a magnet part. Most magnets are available for front loading washers only. The hinge on your lid helps keep the lid open while loading laundry. A broken hinge may cause the lid to slam shut each time it is opened. If this is what's happening with your washer, I recommend changing the hinge.
SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.
If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services
