Question and Answers

Whirpool Washer Model# LSR7300PQ0

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your washer. If the washer just fills and does nothing else, the issue could be with the lid switch. The switch can be checked two ways. The first way is with a volt/ohm meter and you can check continuity across the two terminals on the switch. The circuit should show open and closed as the lid is open and closed. If you have no meter then the lid switch can be bypassed to see if it is the problem. The idea is to remove both of the wires from the lid switch and join (jump) them together with a small wire. With the lid switch bypassed you can see if the washer will drain and spin. The image below shows how to remove the cabinet to access the lid switch but look at the bottom of the instructions to see how to bypass the lid switch. Remember to unplug the washer before access and checking the lid switch. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, please click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services.
